This place has tons of 5 star reviews, but look closer and you'll see they're all 5 years old. Went there today to inquire about rebuilding a 1948 Cadillac Flathead, because they came recommended from the Hot Rod community, Also their website specifically says they work on antique engines. The owner was flat out nasty and said they won't take on old engines, "because there's 150 cusomers ahead of you" and then further reinterated that they "just dont want to work on flatheads". So I haven’t had any work done by this man yet but when I called was extremely helpful full of information, didn’t explain it to me like I was some kind of idiot and should know everything about cars, and I would definitely bring and take my business to this man I can totally understand and see why he has a 4.9 star review he has a true professional with excellent customer service and knowledge far beyond other Mechanic shops if you go here to get the work done, I’m sure that you will be extremely satisfied and happy with yo... read more

Ted and Portland Engine Rebuilders is a real deal engine rebuilder. Ted sat down with me a discussed my 57 283 project in detail and let me make decisions for what was right for my project. The work ethic and craftsmanship is 5 out of 5 stars. The 283 was delivered on time and as a long block with all the supporting pieces also cleaned and restored to specs ready to paint and assemble. Also enjoyed touring the shop. Thanks Ted
