Porterfield is NOT the old Hartley Woods!! – I sympathize for dollyslaffn for her loss. Hartley Woods was a poor nursing home that was in a lot of trouble and everyone needs to know that Hartley Woods is no more! Fortunately, Medical Management Concepts, LLC has bought the property and through a substantial investment of resources by the company, cleared its annual survey with only 3 tags and has already opened a rehabilitation wing which is setting the standard for care in the area. BEWARE !!!!!!! DEATH-RELATED CONCERNS !!! – My father,at almost 88 years young, stepped off his tractor in September of 2003 and damaged his knee.His doctor prescribed a knee brace and referred him to Hartley Bridge for therapy,to learn how to walk with it.I was not able to travel to Macon until three weeks later,and when I did,I asked if we(meaning my husband and I) could take him outside.The aides had a fit and protested"We don't have to get them up on the weekends!" Porterfield cleared its annual survey with only 3 tags and has already opened a rehabilitation wing which is setting the standard for care in the area.
