I have been out of portage for around a year and a half now. I'm forever grateful for some of the staff I met and friends I made there. I'm still in contact with the friends I made there to this day. This program simply isn't a good place to recover, or it wasn't when I was there. They taught me tools and strategies I still use to this day but after living there for 8 months, there were a lot of unprofessional stuff that went on and shouldn't of happened. This place is honesty a joke from the way they run things to how professional they are, from how little care amd how much more force and chore work it seems to be to all the workers to even be around let alone do anything. Mind you in any place there's gonna be a few that stand out and there is by far a few really good workers who do care but overall it doesn't matter or change the way portage is. I attended Portage in September 22’ and overall my experience was horrible. I can say I learned a lot but I think there are so many other avenues when looking for an effective treatment plan. When I attended there weren’t many of us girls in the program and the ones who were there had been there and settled into the routines. Portage was ok but more time as you move up the program they make you start taking control of you’re Community as that sounds nice and supportive but In reality it’s Mentally draining being in a place always haveing to take care of other people instead of your self , The one thing gets me tho is how much the stuff are Unprofessional I was in a group coming back from an Easter RL And they accused me of taking fentanyl on my RL, but I never did that and told everyone that I did when I stood up for myself they called it a act o... read more
