Last summer, Justin at Port Townsend Rigging performed a rig inspection for our 30’ cutter sailboat. He said the rigging wire was showing signs of age, which was over 20 years of age, and he recommended it be replaced if we planned to go offshore. I scheduled the rigging wire replacement with Port Townsend Rigging for early March 2025. They performed the work while the boat was in the water at their dock in Boat Haven. Better than new! Sara was great to work with, from providing detailed bid information and keeping us updated on their progress. Justin was excellent in terms of his thoughtfulness with regard to the upgrades he recommended and measurements. The restepping was straightforward and everything fit perfectly. We have owned our Beneteau 361 since new and with the rigging at 24 years old just beginning to worry about a failure. Port Townsend Rigging designed and built a mast and all the rigging for my 38' sailboat. They were good communicators, we worked out issues together, and the final result is beautiful and functional. I am extremely happy with the mast, boom, standing rigging, and running rigging. By working together we even came up with a color coding scheme for the lines. I regret to say that I will be seeking rigging services elsewhere. Despite my repeated attempts to get a bid, I have faced significant delays in communication. When I follow up with questions, it often takes days to receive a response unless I reach out multiple times. This experience has left me feeling like I need to closely monitor the process, which diminishes my confidence in their overall customer service. I was extremely happy dealing with Lisa at Port Townsend Rigging. I have a 12 year old Valiant 42 sailboat with rod rigging. I contacted Lisa about replacing my rod rigging because I had heard that this was essential given its age. After carefully reviewing where the boat had been kept and how the boat had been used, she recommended that we carefully inspect the rigging before replacing it.
