Port Jefferson Health Care I went to visit a neighbor who was there to recuperate after a nasty auto accident. I was not favorably impressed with what I saw as a visitor. The staff seemed dour and it could have been cleaner.
DO NOT GO HERE. Horrible. Mom's there and the Dr. is not giving her the pain medication she needs after having a total knee replacement surgery - even though this is the medicine she was on during the first knee replacement and she's in so much pain that the physical therapists helping her are trying to get the doctor to give her the medicine she needs. DO NOT LET YOUR RELATIVE GO HERE. AT ALL. even if the rest of the staff is nice, one spoiled apple ruins the bunch - in this case, the Doctor that doesn't understand that a s... read more
a survivor from this horrible place Never, ever send someone you care about to this facility. They put the patients in front of the nurses station to sit for hours on end, forget about asking to have a soiled diaper changed, and the "cozy" is really a restraint that ties the patient to their wheelchair. Patients are heavily medicated so that they are too numb to care. No stimulation, no care, no nothing. Horrible. Go see for yourself.
