Port City Java has been waking up Wilmington, NC since 1995. Nestled in the heart of historic downtown, our first café quickly became a hub for coffee lovers in the community. Our admittedly simple goals were to bring great, fresh-roasted coffee to our neighbors with the help of a charming but ever mischievous 15-kilo Ambex roaster. Port City Java has evolved and grown to operate over 30 cafes as well as its own bakery, roastery and distribution center since then. We look forward to seeing you soon!

The pressure to tip is wild at all PCJ's. They always ask if we want to leave a tip. It's hard enough to say no, just to get a coffee, but even when we say no, they added a tip. Then I have to go in and ask why a tip was left, making me look like a douche. They gave the money back, but the money wasn't the point. Tipping culture is out of control. At least let the customer physically put the tip into the card reader so these situations don't happen.
Very unfriendly and rude staff. Had to pack up my to go order, had to ask for a drink carrier for my 4 drinks, napkins, straws, etc. I will not be back.
This location used to be a go to. Unfortunately, service and inventory management has taken a major dive. Avoid
We have always enjoyed & supported Port City Java but NOT this Arboretum location on Saturday afternoon!! Our lattes were cold to barely warm and tasted flavorless and watered down. I was also offended by being asked if I wanted to add a tip face to face!! I consider that incredibly rude and obnoxious. A jar by the window or the cash registers (like the other local PCJ's) is appropriate. The store is also difficult to access if you're heading north on Military Cutoff.

Port City Java is open now. It will close at 4:00 p.m.
