A huge thank you to Sue for coming out in the car to collect my bestie who was not coping with the tour. 1 or 2 every night abandons the tours. It's okay to tell your guide and ask to leave, don't let your party tell you otherwise. I was on the early tour (dusk) in the off season so it was fairly quiet for us. But it was a big group. A bit of a letdown really, and we kind of wish we’d spoken to a few locals who told us after the fact that it was not much more than a money grab… That being said the Port Arthur historical site itself was amazing and definitely a must do…
We joined the Ghost Tour, and our guide Victoria made the whole experience absolutely fantastic! She brought every story to life with her energy and storytelling — just the right mix of mystery, humour, and chills. The tales she shared really make you stop and think about the dark and eerie history behind the place. You could feel the suspense building with every stop, and she kept everyone completely hooked. It was spooky, fun, and full of fascinating details — definitely an experience worth doing!
Brendan was super dramatic and engaging. His style was great, although yelling Latin at a poor masked lapwing was maybe a step too far lol. Very interesting stories and presentation, suitably hyped up for maximum effect. There was one utter turnip on the tour who made a great cake of how he felt this and that, which was clearly just a figment of his own fear. I believe in ghosts but old mate needed to get a grip.
