We stayed for 3 days and unfortunately had issue after issue from the moment we checked in. One side of the cottage had no working air conditioning, and the temperature reached 89 degrees inside. Maintenance came out three separate times during our stay, but the problem was never fixed before we checked out. Spending a vacation in that kind of heat, especially with multiple young children and a newborn, was unacceptable. The review won't let me post on the actual listing/rental and I have tried many times. This is a review for the "Lost Colony House#1" contact me if you would like Port A Escapes, you have made it almost impossible to post this review where it should actually go on your website. Upon entry, greeted by a very intense odor that is mildew/mold. I have stayed in enough rentals the past 25+ years coming to PortA to know that you can end up with this type of situation and what is due to you as a tenant. We always rent with Port Aransas Escapes, and it is always a positive experience. They are very accommodating and friendly. This year we rented A Southern Jade, and it had everything we needed. The house had the bunk room for kids plus there were 3 bathrooms and sleeping on the sofa sleeper. It is professionally decorated and the kitchen is well stocked. Port A Escapes... You Check In and Property Management Escapes! Our biggest issue with Port A Escapes was the management and check-in experience. We were delayed nearly two hours past check-in because we were repeatedly told the property was undergoing a final quality inspection. During that time, we could not get a clear ETA, and when access was finally granted, the initial access code did not work.
