Wouldn't exchange 3 $20 bills for a $50 and a $10 without opening an account first. Naturally, even if I had been interested in opening an account, I wasn't carrying the necessary documents with me at the time. Not the way I would attract new customers, personally. EDIT: I ended up walking two blocks to Citibank. They exchanged the bills without a second thought.
