I was a patient of Dr. Polakoff's for 15 years. I can say, without hesitation, that he is a great Psychiatrist. I stopped seeing him only because of financial considerations after I went on Medicare, otherwise he would still be my doctor.
Dr. Polakoff helped me with anxiety issues for several years. He not only gave me an appropriate and effective medication solution, but also helped me understand anxiety in a new way, which led me to a greater understanding of how to work to overcome the issue. He offered medication as a tool, but it was not the heart of the treatment. He is kind and compassionate. I can't imagine him exhibiting the behavior that other reviewers described. I would give him zero stars if I could. This practitioner has no personality, empathy or compassion. Stay away...
I have been going to Dr. Polakoff for a couple years and have had a great experience. He has always been very responsive when I have had questions or concerns, and has great "bedside manner". I definitely recommend him!
