Road was closed. No parking anywhere near the area. If you ignore the signs and drive closer, you risk a $150 fine from the sheriff. Lots of debris needs to be cleaned up. Not worth visiting at this time. Hopefully this amazing landmark will be restored!
We packed up some sandwiches and made a whole afternoon out of it. The beach is super sandy and perfect for just kicking back and letting the stress melt away. Even saw a few seals popping their heads up out of the water, which honestly made my whole day. There’s plenty of space to spread out if you’re doing a picnic, and the lighthouse adds such a cool historic vibe to the whole scene. Just keep an eye on the weather — it’s a dream on a sunny day but can get a little moody when it rains!
