We had a new home built and the builder put this brand of window in. They are horrific! Do not purchase this brand. Almost one year after moving in they just replaced the last defective window (there were 11 and some required multiple replacements because the replacement was defective or they sent the wrong size). A balancer came undone in one window almost causing me to drop the window I was washing. A piece of one window frame popped out. Their manufacturing quality control is nonexistent!!! Do not purchase Ply Gem windows. They are not built to last….not even 1 year. I have had problems with these windows since I purchased my house in 2010. I used to be able to call the local company who installed them and they would warranty them. It was easy. Recently I had a back window that the lock mechanism broke. You now have to fill out a ridiculous form online and take multiple pictures of each window. I also submitted a claim for windows that are hard to closed and one that developed a spot.
