The Best Chinese Food EVER The Best Chinese food around! The owner is hands on and has been in the area since the 60's. This place is very busy for a reason. Order take out. This is a great restrauant. The dinner menu is pricey, however the portions are huge and you could definitely share a meal. Hong Kong Chicken is the speciality.
Friendly Restaurant Plum Garden has been in McHenry as long as I can remember. They offer a very nice menu with the typical Cantonese food. They have several specialties and their Kong Kong Chicken is one of my favorites. If you like spicy, try their Ginger Chicken, which was chicken with asparagus and vegetables in a spicy ginger sauce. I would definitely recommend Plum Garden.
The BEST Chinese restaurant ever! My family and I have been dining at Plum Garden since I was a toddler. (im 19 now) They use no MSG in their food, which is what most chinese restaurants normally use. I'm sure plenty of people know that icky sick feeling they get after eating chinese food in some places. In any case! I love their egg rolls and sweet and sour chicken Their egg rolls are delicious and I love how they put veggies in the sweet and sour chicken.. Their lunch menu is excellantly priced however, dinner menu is expensive.
Ok food if you would like to over pay for something that is equivalent for a fraction of the cost. I have ordered multiple times and 1 out of 5 times my chicken is dry.

My family loves Plum Garden. The people are friendly & the service is great. They are open for lunch & dinner (not been there for lunch), but the menu is very similar. They do a very brisk carry out, so if you want it to go, they can do it. We all love their Egg Rolls, which are made fresh every day, and taste very good. We often eat Family Style. But you need to make sure you don't hit them on an "off" night. I have been going here for over 30 years and have yet to find a better egg roll. I haven't even found one that's as good. If I've ever been disappointed in something, Perry mekes sure I am happy before I leave. Top dishes: Steak Kew Hong Kong Chicken Rainbow Won Ton Quaint, quiet place that has been an institution in McHenry forever.
