I was vacationing on St. John and experienced a sudden onset of a huge floater in my eye and "flashing" lights. Everything I read online said it was an emergency and too get to a doctor immediately. Unfortunately it was MLK, Jr day and we couldn't get ahold of any office by phone. We took a chance and took the ferry over to St. Thomas. The staff and doctors are efficient, professional, and polite. The surgeons are good.....but what they don't tell you is that both live off island, only come once a month, maybe not every month. So, if you need cataract surgery, you get one eye done; then, instead of doing the second eye in the normal two to three weeks, it may be a month....or two.....or three. And, if there is a problem or complication.......just hang in there till next month.
I used to buy reading glasses from the grocery store. Then I went to see Dr. Ria at Plessen Optical and for the first time realized how much I was squinting before! Wow. Thank you Dr. Ria. I can see clearly now. Didn't realize how much I was missing. Blessed With Thanks
