Knowledgable Staff – I've been shopping Pleasant's Hardware for decades and it is always the place to go when I need help with a project. The clerks are there to help people find what they need and often give great advice on completing a project. In their much smaller store is a wider variety of merchandise than the big box stores. Prices are comparable too.
No Reciept, no return – For all the talk about this "venerable" Richmond business, I don't think they are the lovable old school store that once garnered rave reviews. I recently bought a few items there and tried to return two items (bought too much weatherstripping). Unfortunately, their policy is no receipt, no return. Unsettling experience – Today I returned two items in exchange for two new items and owed $2.00 when the transaction was completed. I gave the cashier a$20 which was the only bill I had and received $8.00 in change. I questioned her and she said I handed her 'a shiny new $10'. I thought a moment before saying that I only had one bill in my wallet, it wasn't new and it wasn't a $10. She said it was time for her to go home and she wanted my phone number.
