I was in the middle of nowhere, camping in a pasture by Grayrocks Reservoir in July, 2026. Our son, age 15, had a full body allergic reaction. The hives had spread up his body to his face, and his face was beginning to swell. My wife, Juli, is a nurse practitioner and had tried several things to get a handle on the allergic reaction, but she decided we needed to seek higher care quickly. I needed a specific treatment recommended to me earlier that day. The doctor was more interested in getting back to other patients than in seeing to my needs. To be fair, the other four doctors were sending off loud alarm bells that in the end weren’t precisely necessary. Had he done what was recommended, it would have sped everything up for me.
