After being a customer for over 2 years and paying my bill monthly, on time, and electronically every month, I received a bill for \$601.12. No one at Platte-Clay Electric could explain to me why I was being billed this outrageous amount. They did offer to turn me over to a collections agency if I did not pay. KCP&L is a major competitor and they don t have any outrageous fees. We have since switched to KCP&L and pay a significantly lower rate.
