Employee Ray/Rae/Raye is unfriendly if not just simply rude every time I’ve interacted with her.
This seems to be the best climbing gym in SE Michigan (other than Dyno Detroit from what I've heard). That's pretty sad to me, because this place isn't great. 1. Pricing is sooooo bad - $89 a month for a gym where there's a ton of chalk in the air, you can't tell how long it's been since holds were cleaned, and there are functionally 0 useful amenities is pretty bad. Movement (owned by a PE firm - I know) somehow manages to be cheaper while offering 1. more locations, 2. more amenities, 3. larger spaces, and 4. cleaner space... read more

My son and I were just there on Sept 23rd and felt the need to leave an updated review. The previous comments must have been before they had a huge renovation. They added quite a bit of square footage of new bouldering walls and clean holds and their sets are exceptional. We’ve been to MANY gyms and the friendly community and quality sets at Planet Rock definitely make it a worthwhile visit… not that they need the additional business!!
