One star for cleanliness. The men's locker room is disgusting. It smells of musk and urine. Usually the soap and paper towel dispensers are empty. The gym equipment is generally clean because the members wipe it down after each use but you can see dust balls in every corner of the floor. I think they finally fixed the water fountain but the drain was full of mold for a very long time. I used to see a guy in there constantly cleaning away. If I had to guess he got fed up and quit. Google maps has the Lee's Summit location open on Christmas Eve see picture. When I called the message said it was closed Christmas Eve.
I have gone to this gym for at least four years. I also live in Puerto Rico and go to their Planet Fitness, most the time. In Puerto Rico the staff constantly cleans equipment and facility. Here in Lee's Summit the dust and dirt on the floors and equipment is disgusting. I heard that this gym does not have a manager. It needs to have a manager and staff personal to keep things clean!
This location will close early due to staffing issues. You may want to call and see if they are open for business. Be sure to bring your own towel as the paper towels are not being refilled.
I usually don’t write reviews about gyms and am able to get a decent workout here most of the time, but recently this gym has been more than disappointing. A lot of the machines and equipment are quite outdated, as well as in poor condition. For example, the leg extension/curl machine both have the resistance pad on a slant, and the chest/rear delt fly machine has a similar issue with the handles.
