My Partner and I paid in advance for Michelle to be our Doula. We met with her a few times, and had a couple of 'telephone meetings'. Communication seemed OK at first, but she became increasingly difficult to contact, and would frequently not respond to messages. She said that she would send us resources (literature etc), but never did. I feel like Michelle is an absolute thief taking advantage of vulnerable pregnant women. I originally went with Michelle as she was the first person to get back to me. After I paid the money I had to constantly chase her up and every time we planned to talk it never happened and she never sent me bags as promised to store placenta. Michelle was referred to me by other doula I wanted to get help but lived out of her business area. I paid for placenta encapsulation. It was fine at the beginning but response I received from Michelle got slower and slower. And the day we were meant to have a chat on the phone, she didn't answer it. All our communications were done by email and sms. She was meant to send me bags for keeping placenta when I was 30+ weeks.
