We bought a sideboard at Planet Furniture some 25 years ago, when they were on Crown St. It is magnifcent, high quality ply, still as good as new. So we recently we bought bedside tables. They arrived as chipboard garbage. The closing mechanism is a joke.
Couldn't believe that a business in a city that thrives on the tourist dollar, could in fact offend a tourist. I made a purchase recently, asked the guy serving to wrap item well as I was travelling home to Melbourne. He then made a sly remark of "....oh, how boring". I have never received such rude customer service ever. Love the rug I bought recently from Planet. Great service and interest from the owner. Good quality and reasonable pricing for unique and beautiful pieces.
For furniture that is brilliantly designed and made, I highly recommend Planet Furniture. I have bought dining chairs, a bed, a side table and sofas from Planet Furniture and am super happy with all of it. All the furniture is beautifully made with the highest grade timber and attention to detail. The latex bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Furthermore, the customer service is exceptional. A high grade experience on all levels.
