Poor care -= missed problem After moving to the area, I took my 12 year old cat to Dr Ambrose during my first and only visit to Plains Animal Hosp. She came into the treatment room with an entourage and never introduced herself. My husband and I reported to her that our cat had lost several lbs and was showing signs of IBS. Dr Ambrose never took our cat's temperature or suggested blood work and did only a cursory exam before loading him up with his annual vaccines. That night he got very ill form the shots (never had this re... read more
awful doesn't cover it Our 17 year old cat has been on antibiotics for two weeks, he is losing 14% of his body weight per week and is down to 5.5 lbs. We have explained that we wish only to keep him comfortable at this point because he is clearly suffering. The Dr. ran tests and informed my husband that he has hyperthyroid. After almost $400.00 home he came with medications that I found out this morning will take weeks to work. My husband & I could not continue to watch him suffer and had him euthanized today. 23 Years experience with Dr Kristen Edwards and Dr Ayres I admit it that I am biased, but then again after 23 years if successful experience with these 2 vets I have only good things to say. Money, that's all they want or care about Money, money, money. I think that's all these people know. They don't really care about your pet or their well being. The doctors don't seem very qualified or seem to know what they're talking about. They just talk in circles. I don't know how people can work here and feel good about themselves. I work in the medical field at a medical office and we give our patients the best care possible. I guess because their patients can't speak they try to get away with as much as possible. ....... read more
Plains Animal Hospital Our Siamese, Samson, wasn't feeling well, he was not eating, Dr. Ayers saw him immediately (our first visit) on Friday, unfortunately by Sunday, Samson was admitted to the Referral Hospital, next door. Although he received great care it was quite costly. Samson had no change by Monday and they recommended more testing or exploratory surgery. Due to the high cost, Dr. Ayers was called and he agreed to perform Samson's exploratory surgery for a 1/4 of the cost. I can't say enough about Dr. Ayers and his ... read more
