Wow - their archaic payment system is a disgrace. I have been paying property taxes on my home in Placer County for 32 years and have had the same bank account for 32 years. But you CAN'T SIGN UP FOR AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS FOR YOUR PROPERTY TAX BILL. You need to make sure you do this with your bank yourself. Like this isn't 2025 where all my other bills are set up for automatic payments. PG and E, Water, Garbage, Auto/Homeowners insurance, the list goes on...all on auto-pay. Absolute dumpster fire of a government office with rude people. They acknowledged they made a mistake which caused a bill to be undeliverable for an entire year, yet refuse to remove late fees on a property I owned for 4 months. Claimed, "we had to jump through hoops to find you." B.S. Meanwhile I've been paying taxes on a different property in the same county for over a year. How ineffective of an office can you be? Everything that's said about bad government is represented by Placer County administration. Inefficient, below business standards, and unaccountable. In my experience, they accept no responsibility for the problems they create, but somehow they manage to be arrogant nonetheless.
