So I went to emergency with a pain in my lower extremity and received an mri and about 20 minutes of review which was basically a physical exam. I just got my bill for $10,787.00. Can anyone tell me how they can justify this?? While medical covers 100% for anyone that walks in.... working and paying your bills has turned into a feeding system for these intitutions to provide free services to those who dont....I would say visit an urgent care clinic or simply see your regular doctor before going to this or any other emergency... read more

Horrible experience, bad customer service, incompetent doctors. I went to this er on NYE hoping I could easily get an x-ray for some rib pain I was having. I am pretty knowledgeable about medical issues considering I was pre-med, have doctors in the family and practice personal injury law and had a major medical crisis years ago and had to educate myself on the rare disease I have. Came here for excruciating pain in my lower stomach, waited to 2 and half hours to be seen. And then another 3+ hours waiting for results. I came here because I saw the UCI name attached it . But they just bought out a year ago, and doesn’t give you the level of service the UCI name is known for. I’m leaving the ER after 6 hours of being here, without getting the results of my test, so I have no idea what’s going but I assume it’s not life threatening if this how they treat you. My daughter reached out to me after waiting over 6 hours but still not being seen for severe abdominal pain. She was sent there by an urgent care facility that called and told them they were sending her and she was in severe pain. When I called, the phone rang over 100 times before being answered in the ER. When they did answer we were disconnected. When I called back and identified myself as a doctor they put me thru to the ER doc, who said he'd see my daughter right away.
