I recently purchased a Stihl 261-c original (still carb tuned) I asked the professionals what the recommended bar size was, I was happily shocked when I was instructed to purchase a 20inch bar and chain. In fact 16 inch is the recommended size and 18 inch on a light bar is the maximum. I purchased another 2 as there was a 2 for 1 deal. I asked for a light bar but when I got to site I opened a typical rolomatic, way to heavy for the saw and they would not swap as the cartons had been damaged.
