sunday 10/17 I took my very sick and IN PAIN dog to this emergency clinic. They decided he wasn't as sick as others and put him in a cage FOR 6 HOURS!! Finally a vet saw him took blood, recommended for me to make an ultrasound appointment, gave him fluids HE NEEDED 6 HOURS EARLIER, anti nausea shot and sent us home 7 hours after arriving. NO Matter how much I asked, no matter what I said, no matter what your sign says about priorities,,he sat, in pain for 6 hours and was sent home without pain meds! The next day I took him... read more
They were amazing! Due to Covid I could not be with my cat. He had to be admitted, but the Doctor and the staff called to make sure I knew what was happening and how he was doing. They took him immediately, no wait. I am extremely happy with the care and sensitivity they showed for me and my cat. I highly recommend them.
Please everyone who owns a pet please read. Know ahead of time where you will take your pet in an emergency when your Vet is closed. Do your research, read reviews, do not find out the hard way. Do not ever take you pet to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Chesapeake Va. I would not go to any of them they are a corporation that only cares about money, that is all. They do not care about your animal or you at all. They do not care that the pet is suffering, all they want is the money and as much as they can get form you. We had t... read more
DO NOT take your pets here. Don't be fooled by the fancy clinics. We have had 3 horrible experiences in Northfield, IL resulting in us taking our pets elsewhere. Missed diagnoses, inappropriate treatment, vets seemed unsure and inexperienced, MULTIPLE unanswered emails regarding our request for refunds and to reimburse for $800 of damaged rugs because our dog's wound was not appropriately dressed and there was blood and pus all over our house. This was not 1 but 3 bad experiences on top of having heard bad things from oth... read more
I so regret bringing my dog in for surgery two days ago. I sped the whole 1.5 hour drive to get there, and waited for over 20 minutes on hold in the parking lot with a dog who was having problems breathing and was awaiting emergency surgery. Finally, after not getting off of hold after two tries, I just came in with him. I left him there, as well as a $5,000 deposit, and they performed the procedure hours later, but had the wrong phone number to update me. So the doctor kept leaving messages and updates, but not for me. I ... read more
Worst place to take your pet that is in distress and needs a cat scan to get a diagnosis. We got to the ER at 6:00 am and by 10:00 they said we needed an appointment for imaging. We took that had difficulty breathing back home. Dr. Celio (not sure about spelling) said that the receptionist basically does her schedule for the day!!! That was so strange. Do they have to hire more veterinarians or manage the ones they have to provide good care for very sick pets? Or maybe they should put a disclosure on the homepage NOT SURE ... read more
Just left here after having the worst experience of my life. Brought my dog in due to excessive coughing that sounds like penumonia or heart failure. They had him in the back from 6pm after arriving at 5-515ish. at 630 the vet came back out and said they had an emergency case and would be with us next. I asked for an appx time and he said maybe an hr. I said ok and took my mom for food. Went back in at 7. Sat for another hour. Asked for an update. Was told Bruiser would be seen next again. Asked again at 9 for an update. Was... read more
If it was possible to leave a minus number of stars I would. Exceptionally disappointed. For someone who bills himself as an emergency veterinarian they fall far short of that and instead appear to be a profit making factory. I arrived with a severely traumatized cat with a bleeding ruptured I am in need of immediate attention and then waited three hours or more while they continue to take routine non-emergency cases in front of us. Unconscionable. I will never use this again and wish I had never gone here to begin with.
Unfortunately, we were EXTREMELY disappointed with the lack of service, concern or care we received from Blue Pearl. When we arrived with our 8- week-old puppy who was writhing in pain and screaming we were told, very curtly and matter-of-factly, there was a 6 or 7 hour wait to be seen. It was our first time experiencing an emergency with our pet. We thought Blue Pearl was a legitimate place to take an animal with an emergency problem since the name is Blue Pearl Specialty and Emergency Pet Hospital. Nothing could be far... read more
