This place is AWFUL! Waited 5 hours with an animal with bleeding eyes & when I asked why a dog jumped ahead to get stitches removed, a little man with a buzz cut came SCREAMING at me "leave right now!" I've never felt more threatened being a female & being in a medical professional setting. The staff was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL & unscrupulous. Very unethical the way they run this business. Save your time! I wouldn't want an angry man beating woman handling any animal of mine! Please listen to all the horrible reviews lol

We came home late this morning & found our 2-year old boxer with an extremely swollen left front paw. He could barely walk. We read on the internet that pets sometimes get insect or spider bites. We took our boxer to Blue Pearl & got in right away. We explained to the tech that he's timid around strangers. The tech took him for an exam & we asked if one of us could with him & he didn't say anything. He came back 30 seconds later stating we needed to put a muzzle on him so they examine him because he was trying to bite them. ... read more

NOT REGISTERED ONCOLOGISTS!! I'll keep this short. My dog has cancer. He needs chemo once a week. I got a call a day before his appointment to reschedule for two days later. I asked if should just take him to the other Blue Pearl in the area. I was told no because two days will not make a difference and the doctor likes to keep his patients. While I did not like that answer, I trusted them. THEN the day before my dog's now rescheduled appoint, I get another call saying they need to reschedule AGAIN because the doctor is sic... read more

We were on vacation when our dog became ill. We went to an emergency vet where we were travelling and were told that our dog had a splenic tumor and we could either euthanize him or have him go through surgery to remove the tumor. The vet told us that the tumor was most likely cancerous because he was in pain. We did not live in the area so we talked the vet into letting us take him to our vet closer to home. We then came to Pet Specialists of Monterey because we trust them and have had good experiences with them in the pa... read more

I had to have my 14 y/o schnauzer Oscar euthanized due to he suffered what we believed to have been a stroke- as devastating as it was he was getting weaker every day- we went to McMurray office and was so grateful for the entry staff- they went above and beyond to support us on our decision- The Dr. called us on cell while we waited outside and returned him to us on a white casket like box along with a footprint with his name on it made of clay- like material- and asked us to call if we needed anything- God Bless All the. s... read more

Dr Brittney Cerroni is a fabulous surgeon and she and her surgical team took wonderful care of my dog during 2 different ACL knee surgeries. Since these cruciate tears occurred during the Covid pandemic, I was never able to meet Dr Cerroni, but I can tell through the phone, the follow up, the excellent healed results and through my dog's experience, that this surgeon is the one to pick!

I've been dealing with Dermatology for Animals almost a year now. I have a Great Dane with severe skin issues and thankfully the vet here was able to diagnose his issue. Let me first say, I love the vet. It's the front staff that I am not fond of. My Great Dane has to be on medication on a regular basis. Due to the current COVID restrictions (even though they have been lifted by the CDC) I have to park, call the number and wait for them to bring out the meds to me. And there lies the problem. It is not unusual for me t... read more

This place is not always pet oriented or customer oriented. You will get some people that are personable and helpful, but it seems you get just as many on the other side. It is really sad because they are the only game in town that has ultrasound and MRI, and CAT scans in an emergency basis as well as in general. But some of the managers and employees can be insensitive and difficult, at a time when you are trying to help your dog. The littlest logical disagreement or opposing logical opinion can set them off like I'm the... read more
