ok, I acted & left a review too hastily, I was a very worried pet mom. I apologize. She is very sick with renal failure. I called my vet Saturday morning & of course they were closed. So I called Animal Referral again & got in right away. They gave her fluids & anti nausea shot. & wanted to do a blood panel. I just had one done a week before from my vet. Numbers were not good, but not the worst. They gave me 3 options bring her home, admit her or let her go. I took her home, she is doing slightly better for now. The doctor ... read more

BEWARE! Read other reviews with the exact same problems! They’ve ruined my dog’s quality of life. We took our dog to Blue Pearl because it was the closest vet that would perform surgery on my dog’s tendon. Everything was ok until a few weeks post-op. During one of the routine bandage changes, they wrapped everything too tight and cut the circulation off to my dog’s leg. He developed a fever, was lethargic, lost his appetite and developed a putrid smell from the bandage area. He developed a nasty infection that nearly took ... read more

I called this so called animal hospital for my sick cat who is in kidney failure because she was very ill & I was told that they would not see her because she was not ill enough. Isn't this suppose to be a emergency animal hospital where you can bring your sick pets when your regular vet is closed. SHAME ON YOU, YOU ARE DISGUSTING. My cats are very important to me, I don't want to see her suffer & you turned her away. If she passes because you would not see us I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. For what you charge yo... read more

Blue Pearl is owned by Mars/Private Equity. The vets are not owner/operators. , BP is strictly "shift" work employees so no investment in you, your pet, or the community. BP is one of two weekend operations for vet care in this entire community. I have no idea why vet clinics have ceased having weekend coverage (overnight). It is a major gap in options available to people who are in crises with their pet. My story is one of preventable heartbreak. Ruby was admitted for sudden onset labored breathing. Healthy, indo... read more

Called 6 times on a Sunday morning to make sure this place was actually open. No answer. If it was local I would have just gone over, but since I live in Lawrence I wanted to make sure they hadn't changed their hours before I drove the half hour. Inexcusable, as is the fact the Lawrence has no emergency vets.

I adopted a dog from Cherokee Animal Shelter, they gave me a list of vets to go and I selected South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital. For my surprise, the service was awesome, my dog and I were really happy. I recommend this hospital, really took care of my new baby Quinn. Jackie Montero

Taking my 6yo chi in when he was in CHF. I knew it was his end and it took them 3hrs to pts after he came out both arms shaved and bloody he was in a daze. They said I have 5 mins with him because he struggled long enough. I believe he struggled with them behind closed doors. The end of life and couldn't breath he went through he'll. Never will I walk through their doors again.

I am a couple months removed from my horrible experience here and I am still just as upset as the day I was there. If I could give 0 stars I would - this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a vet in my life. I have never written a review like this but I feel so strongly no one should ever take their pet here that I have to share my experience. I was referred here after complications after CCL surgery puppy (not even a year old). I want to start off by saying, this place does not care about animals only mone... read more
