The staff and veterinarians at this hospital are incredibly caring! Treatment and concern for pet patients and families is extraordinary! Look no further for your pet’s care.

9 months ago my poor cat had to be put down (or did he?) for fecal impaction. PVSEC put me off for 12 days, giving me laxatives, even when i told them the laxatives were not working. I requested they do the $4000 procedure to remove the impaction. They had no problem taking xrays blood tests and the works, then to tell me he was not stable enough to do the procedure. Kept me waiting on 2 occasions for 20 hours total...disgusting and will NEVER go back there. Poor guy was euthanized. This "so-called" Associate Vet who didn'... read more

I had to have my 14 y/o schnauzer Oscar euthanized due to he suffered what we believed to have been a stroke- as devastating as it was he was getting weaker every day- we went to McMurray office and was so grateful for the entry staff- they went above and beyond to support us on our decision- The Dr. called us on cell while we waited outside and returned him to us on a white casket like box along with a footprint with his name on it made of clay- like material- and asked us to call if we needed anything- God Bless All the. s... read more

My dog was ran over with an ATV and had bad wounds we drove an hour for emergency service only for them to take him inside then have to call ourselves due to little & vague updates on what they were doing with my dog. then we find out they haven’t even started wound repairs and it’s been six hours since he was taken inside, they respond with “he’s resting comfortably”. we understand they have other issues but we are very dissatisfied with the “emergency service” action time

Brought my healthy 14 yr old dog to PVSEC ER @ 7::30am because she threw up 4 times and was shaking in discomfort. Because of Covid, I wasn’t allowed in the building. A tech came out around 8:15 to get my dog and have me sign treatment and CPR forms. About an hour later a tech tells me the vet wants to do a blood panel & ultra sound and needed an upfront payment of $800. I put it on a credit card & waited. FOUR HOURS LATER I’m still in the parking lot so I called to ask about my dog, but was told the tech attending to her wa... read more

My dog was referred to PVSEC, by my regular vet, for an EMERGENCY. She was referred to PVSEC because she suddenly lost the ability to walk, go to the bathroom and was in extreme pain/agony. Working in the medical field, I know these drastic and sudden changes are emergent and should be dealt with in a timely manner. PVSEC website even states "When you have a pet emergency, seconds count" but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Dr. Sowy did not deem this case "emergent" and would not order an MRI. As a medical profession... read more

My 70 year-old mother has a dog who has been going to the north hills PSVEC FOR YEARS! She’s spent THOUSANDS of dollars there with MRI’s, bloodwork, appointments, etc. She had an appointment with neurologist in March but, due to COVID, it’s been cancelled. Her dog has a bone missing in her head. Without magnesium chloride and phenobarbitals, DORIE WILL NOT SURVIVE. She called to get a script refilled. TODAY they called and said they will not refill her script because she hasn’t seen the neurologist in a year ...despite the... read more

My cat broke her leg and I sat in the parking lot for 7 hours for them to tell me if I don’t have 2,000 up front to basically go fuck myself and if I could afford 500$ they’d splint it. So I do the 500$ because who can pull that out of their ass at 6 am. And they bring out my kitten tell me noting and than proceed to walk away and not give me her pain meds. Most of the info on her discharge papers are WRONG. And to boot when I took her to MY vet the next day. He was PISSED because the cast was so big it was bending her sp... read more

We took our cat in to be seen by the Neurologist, Dr. MacKillop. We originally took her into the ER, hoping that we could get her in to see him faster (she was having "seizures" regularly and we'd been to two other vets in our area). I don't suggest you take your pet to the ER unless it's a REAL, SUPER emergency - the ER doctors sound very busy and can be short (not in a mean way, they just have a lot of pets to see!). We brought her back early the next morning so that she could be seen by Dr. MacKillop. He called me a f... read more
