Dry pastries served. Terrible restaurant. The Italian sodas left a bad after taste in my mouth. The pastries we ordered were very very dry. The staff was very rude.

Best Gelato in Monterey – Pino's Cafe has some of the best gelato I've had. I've been to Italy may times and Pino's Gelato rivals anything in Italy. The owner makes it and told me he imports all his ingredients (except the milk) from Italy. He is a third generation gelateria owner and is very proud of his product. Everytime I'm in Monterey, I go and have Gelato at Pino's- even if I have to wait in line. Some of the best!
Bad Gelato, worse service – I would go to the ends of the earth, and endure many hardships for Gelato. . .When I was last in Rome, I slept on the pavement of the train station so I could afford one more creamy scoop! So believe me when I claim to know my Italian Ice Creams. The ice cream here at Pino's was freezer burned, and seemed to have some sort of chewy pudding skin-like slime mixed in. . .(Puddings and custards (i.e. Gelato) will do this if you don't keep plastic wrap directly on their surface).
