A few days ago received a call from Oxford Law Office regarding First Equity Card account. Never heard of First Equity before and account had been delinquent for seven or eight years. First Equity closed and accounts were sold to companies like Genisis, Pinnacle, and others that buy these accounts for five cents on the dollar. Oxford had run information and asset checks on the name on the account and probably sent collection letters to all or just arbitraily assigned their collection efforts. It is a total scam. I don't unde... read more

WORST EVER – I wish there could be negative stars for this organization. Worst, most rude and disrespectful agents I have EVER encountered. My issue was erroneous and disputed but it took FOREVER to get that done. I cannot tell you how many times I was hung up on and how many times they refused to answer any of my inquiries. This place really needs to be shut down by the BBB. It is beside me how they are still allowed to function. It surprised me no one has gone postal on that place yet.

Crazy Company – I also recieved a third party attempt at collections for Pinnacle from Nelson Watson and Associates. I paid the bill in full in July 2008. IT IS STILL ON MY CREDIT REPORT TODAY AS UNPAID!!! This is insane. I contacted Nelson, Watson, Associates and they were very pleasant. They said that they had processed my payment onto Pinnacle in August of 08 and didn't know why Pinnacle was still reporting it. So I disputed it through Equifax, and Pinnacle came back with a report that I still had never made a payment! SO... read more

More Scamming – I too received a credit notice in the mail from a 3rd party stating the I owe $$ to Pinnacle. Once I called to investigate and dispute, I found out they are trying to collect unpaid utility payments for an account opened in 2003 that I'd vacated the year prior. Now I have to be the one to do all of the leg work to prove that the outstanding money (if there really is any) is not mine and that I was in fact living somewhere else at the time they claim I was there. What a gyp!

Fraudulent derogatory credit entries, refusal to amend – What horrible dogs. Last July Pinnacle purchased an erroneous chargeoff from Verizon Wireless and began harassing me by telephone. I contacted Verizon immediately, and they promptly gave Pinnalce notice to cease collection calls and to remove any derogatory credit entries. I discovered around February 1, 2008, that Pinnacle had not removed the derogatory entries and contacted Verizon again, along with filing a dispute through the credit bureau. In two weeks Pinnacle ha... read more

Sunshyne – Pinnacle is a big fraud. You know these collection companies buy old or written off debt from other creditors who have received payment via writing off the debt, and having default insurance. These kinds of companies like Pinnacle buy these old debts for $1, and then they pursue individuals by any means necessary. Most times unsuspecting consumers will contact the company, and unknowingly validate the debt by giving them personal information like the social security number, birth date and current address. Don't be... read more
