I had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Erich Haezebrouck who was at least 30 minutes late. Right off the bat, the provider dismissed my concerns by stating that I probably don’t have bipolar disorder because "it’s very rare," without even taking the time to listen to my history or symptoms. I see doctor Douglas and she has been wonderful.
If you consider yourself a high-masking adult woman with ASD (with or without coexisting disorders) let me spare you the time and money being evaluated here. You are better off waiting to be evaluated by a professional who has experience and knowledge of the high-masking autistic profile, specifically in women.
