Today they lost a customer. The person that came out said it same filter was keeping the flow sensor from working. He took one look at it being a same filter and said they don't work on those. The sensor works sometimes. And the owner had told us they recommend not changing the sand. Been going to them since 2009 and now will find someone else to service or pool.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mike to remodel my pool a few years back. He and his crew did a wonderful job! Since then, I’ve been a customer at the Pinch a Penny Westchase store and recently started pool cleaning service with them. Whenever there’s a problem, a team member is quick to resolve it or promptly on site to make a repair.
“Why do you keep calling the store?” I called twice trying to figure out what was going on because no one seemed to be able to tell me. I’ve never had a company ask me something so blatantly rude in my life. On my first day of routine service with the company, after coming in and spending ~$1900 the day before, two water samples, conversations with two employees, including the “route supervisor” that came today, and a conversation with a technician this morning, I will be cancelling any further service with this company. Make an appointment and they lose the ticket, make another appointment and they don’t come when promised. When service does come out, they don’t talk to the homeowner to discuss what’s going on and how to adjust the valves properly I have no idea what they found on my pool or how to fix it. Have a pool party here in two days my pool is still a mess. Trying to fix it for two weeks now! When I called the store for answers they laughed at me and were mad I was questioning them. Very disappointed!
I booked an appointment for a repair on my pool on Tuesday 5/13/25 for 2pm on 5/15/25. I took off work so the repair tech would have access to my pool and breaker box. At 2:20 pm the day of the repair nobody had arrive so I called the store to get an eta. The person I spoke to said they would be there later. At 5 pm I called again and the person I spoke to said there was no record that I had an appointment. Needless to say this was my last time doing business with pinch a penny.
