Post storm stay. Place was a mess. 604 closed due to power outage but the building had power. Probably nice on a normal day. Cabin was nice but water cold in the shower, broken blinds, cable TV no working, AC was noisy. Disappointed. Definitely not well maintained. Facilities show neglect.
It was our second time staying here, first time was 9 years ago. This time there was no military guards at front gate checkin and none patrolling the grounds, not sure why that changed? The dark haired older lady at desk at checkin seemed annoyed each interaction we had with her over the 7 days. The restaurant was a bit underwhelming, long wait time, short staffed. Overall we enjoyed our stay!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Pililaau Army Recreation Center cottages! It truly felt like a little hidden piece of paradise. The cottages were clean, comfortable, secluded, and incredibly peaceful it was exactly what we were hoping for during our time in Hawaii. One of our favorite things was how quiet and relaxing the property felt. Being away from the hustle and bustle and having the beautiful beach and ocean right there made it so special.
