Pililaau Army Recreation Center provided an incredible stay, especially during the busy holiday season. We were so thankful they were able to accommodate us. Once you check in and grab some groceries, there’s truly no need to leave—everything you need is right there. The seaside experience is top tier, with cottages just steps from the ocean. Being in the Army at the time of our trip we stayed here for half the time and down in Waikiki the other half. Oh my gosh this place is awesome! The huts are on stilts and I’d wake up, have my coffee and go surfing. Perfect place, especially for active and veteran status prices! Love it. Can’t wait to go again!
I love how these cabins have been renovated. Tall ceilings and a large front patio make it feel like you have so much more room. Every cabin gets a picnic table and a charcoal bbq and all of them face the beach. Bring paper towels and napkins for the kitchen. It’s minimal kitchenware but sufficient. Beds and pillows are in decent shape for a week’s stay. All cabins have walk in showers in the ample bathrooms and outdoor showers are throughout the picnic areas.
