Growing up in Gunnison, Pie-Zan’s was always my top choice for pizza, so we had to go when visiting town last week. The newer location has a nice atmosphere - they did an amazing job remodeling the building. We were there at the height of lunch hour, and the staff were hardworking and friendly. The pizza and garlic knots were still delicious, especially with a side of parmesan dressing.
Pros: Pizza is GOOD. A little light on the toppings, but the sauce gives it a good punch. Cons: The ambience is rushed, loud, and frantic. Our server, Jacob, was great. Calm, apologetic for the long wait, and made sure we were taken care of. However, other staff interactions were off-putting (seriously, no eye contact or pleasantries when seating us, just tossed the menus down and walked away). All staff need to be trained to SLOW DOWN! This place has an incredible gluten free pizza! I stop here every time I am passing through Gunnison. Their GF pizza is on par with quality normally only found in much larger cities like Chicago or NYC.
