This tiny Eisenhower-era burger and pie spot makes an excellent veggie burger with crisp lettuce and in my case, grilled onions. It's one of the better veggie burgers in Pasadena, now that Orean, which was up the street on Lake, is closed. In the bathroom, the water at the sink is opened by pushing your knees against levers. Never seen that before.
Ordered Fresh strawberry pie slice to go. Strawberries were delicious but they were swimming in a glob of gelatinous food colored goo matched only by mediocre crust. Ten bucks wasted.
The food was fabulous & Miranda was super sweet and professional!
First off...Happy 250th America. This little restaurant is definitely a little piece of Americana...been around since the 1960's. It is a small rustic and simple looking place but is clean and run well. Now down to the nitty gritty. I have only been here a couple of times over the last few years, stopping in when I happen to be near that section of Pasadena. Finally made it here today and what a treat.
