Having a work of art created from a photo (or several photos, as in a composite configured by the artist) is an amazing opportunity. This is not a photo of a certain resolution projected onto a canvas and then painted over (which is interesting but requires mainly a matching of paint colors to the projected image and does not permit merging of images), but a painting, inspired by photos as if the subjects were sitting for the artist.
