We bring you to the best part of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore to paddle 5 miles/ or approximately 2 hours. The boat leaves from our dock while you can sit back and enjoy the breath-taking views before we stop and safety launch you in the water from our vessels. Great Guides, awesome and receptive Captain. Highly recommend, and had an amazing experience.
For the price and the experience, this kayaking was not worth it to us. I will say that my review is mostly due to our guide. Our “guided five mile tour” was led by a gentleman who rarely spoke but when he did talk, the information was incorrect. He told us how Lake Superior was the largest lake by volume (it’s not) and how it was third largest in surface area (it’s first) just behind Lake Baikal in Russia and Lake Victoria “which I think is in South America” (it’s in Africa). There are a lot of kayak tours in beautiful locations. What made Pictured Rocks Kayaking stand out for me was their launch and pickup methods. They launch from the boat in custom built launch racks that hold the kayak steady and provide climbing bars for getting in and out. I'm of the bad back/bad knees generation and I've done the beach-and-rollout method of kayak dismount more than once after a long paddle. This was infinitely better.
