I went to Picnic on the Square to purchase a gift certificate for my mother's birthday. I was told that they were out of gift certificates. I don't live nearby, so they asked for my credit card info and an address to mail the gift certificate. I gave them the info they needed and requested that they call me after mailing it. My girlfriend and I came here for New Year's Eve 2015. The menu was prefixed three course that included lobster bisque, gnocchi, seafood a la picnic, duck, lamb chop, and flour less chocolate cake to name a few. The lobster bisque was rich and extremely tasty. Our entrees were very good and well portioned. The chocolate cake was also delicious! The only drawback of the restaurant was the seating. Picnic on the Square has added a nice new dimension to the Ridgewood dining scene. Christine Nunn has brought her amazing culinary exploits to town, and I'm thrilled to be able to enjoy it. We had a variety of amazing dishes on our different visits including the butter poached lobster roll, seared fois gras and pork belly - wimsically termed "liver and onions," veal pot roast, scallops over saffron risotto, and the list goes onward.
