Piccolo Sogno translates as "little dream"—and what a dream this culinary delight is, from the rustic decor of crystal candlestick chandeliers to the exquisite garden oasis of their patio. The food itself is a taste of heaven, offering a variety of classic Mediterranean dishes with a contemporary flair and touch. The Tortelli di Carciofi is a favorite, offering baby artichoke and ricotta filled pasta with English peas and fava beans; or try the Paglia e Fieno con Vitello, made of "straw and hay" green and white noodles... read more

Bad Dream? – Whoa! Really bad service, okay food and pretty good size tab.
Absolutely Not! – In a city which banned state wide non-smoking rules, it was very disturbing to experience 3 guests in the restaurant smoking cigars!!?!! I was with several out of town guests- one of which has a severe allergic asthmatic reaction to smoke. We notified our waiter and the host who both said there was nothing they could do about it.....shocking, since it's illegal in the state of Illinois to allow such a thing. We notified 311 who will forward the complaint to the Illinois Department of Health. Nothing against... read more
Wait, Wait, Keep Waiting – We went there last night and all we heard from the time we walked in the door was to "wait". We had a reservation but had to wait for an hour and 20 minutes to get seated. Once seated, it took too long for our wine to arrive. The food was not bad but it wasn't remarkable either. The service can throw the whole meal off!
Below Average Overall – I love dining alfresco but cannot stand flies swarming around! I don't understand why they can't get rid of this problem. There are other places like Chaise Lounge that has outdoor seating and doesn't have this problem. I gave this place two tries. The second time we ate inside and the service was not good and found everything to be overpriced.
As great as ever! – I used to dine at Coco Pazzo quite a bit and when I heard the chef from there had started a new place Ihad to try it out . Glas I did. The space is beautiful and the food is as wonderful as Coco Pazzo, if not better. I had the new artichoke tortellis, absolutely delicious and refreshing. My friend tried the Veal Genovese, so tender... Also it's served with a healthy green bean and potato pesto salad. We both had a wonderful $5.00 glass of wine. It was as fine a lunch as either us remembers having. Great f... read more
inconsistent – When they first opened, we dined here twice and both time found a great wine list with healthy pours and good food. We sat in the back outdoor area but since winter arrived we hadn't been back since last night since they have very few tables without the backyard dining area. The wine by glass although good quality italian wines is a very weak pour - really it is 1/2 glass and not a full glass - at 18 and some 19 dollar glasses this is outrageous. We were very disappointed. My boyfriend had the osso bucco which... read more
Disappointed – It isn't that hard to make pasta flavorful! Add to this poor service and expensive wines by the glass. The fact that our server smelled of cigarettes was not appetizing at all. We all thought this would be a good restaurant and fairly priced but were overall disappointed.
Wines by the glass half the size they used to be – The good news is that this restaurant's menu boasts fine Italian wines by the glass (Amarone, Brunello, Barolo, etc.) - this was one of the things which made it unique and why we enjoyed dining here. The bad news is that they were much more generous with their pours when they first opened this restaurant. That has changed as they have now scaled back considerably on quantity, and at $18 and $19 per glass, it is outrageous that you get a tiny glass with what truly amounts to ... read more
