I've been shopping at Picante for many many years. I've always found the staff to be friendly, knowledgeable and helpful...very much so. I'm puzzled by the person who posted a review saying stay far away from this store. When posting a review...especially a negative one...details should be given. Just letting us know you didn't like it tells us nothing helpful. Please everyone go by Picante and decide for yourself. October is a great time to visit, since they have a wonderful collection of Dias de los Muertes related items.
This unique store is full of interesting and unusual items. It is a place I like to take out of town guests for fun shopping and friendly, courteous help.
Every time I go into Picante they always speak to me and make me feel wellcome. A great and a fun place to shop.
I moved to Sacramento, CA & when I go to the folk art store here-theres no Frida stuff!!!I I am trying to replace my Frida bag and a tiny frame necklace with her painting or something....I hope I can order it from you.
I can't think of a single time I've been to Picante without getting the best customer service. I can shop at my own pace, try on all the clothes I want, talk as much or as little as I want with the nice people who work there. It doesn't get any better than this place.
I currently reside in San Jose, CA, but whenever my travels take me to Tucson, I always make it a point to stop in at Picante, especially to see their new offerings of Mexican/Latin folk art. I have always been treated in a courteous and professional manner, so I am taken aback by the customer's remarks who said they were "TREATED INCREDIBLY HORRIBLY". Love love love this store and the people who work there. We visit Tucson several times a year and I buy gifts at Picante to bring to folks here in the east. They are always unusual and colorful and the people who run the store are wonderful. Whoever had a bad experience there clearly brought it on her(him?) self. I witnessed a mother and her children come into the store, accidentally break something, and the owner wouldn't take their money. Picante never disappoints. I am always treated incredibly well at this amazing shop. The store owner, Hazel, and her staff remember everyone's names and go out of their way to help customers find just the right thing. Whenever I'm looking for a gift or something special for myself, this is where I go. Don't miss their wonderful toy store next door, Yikes.
Earlier this week I had the MOST horrible customer experience at Picante I've ever had anywhere. I recommend that all of you stay far, far away from the store.
