Great Atmosphere, Good food The Phyrst is a basement bar in State College. It is a lot of fun to go to on St. Patty's day because everyone dresses up and they dye the beer green. There is a good mix between local and student clientele. The Phyrst is owned by the same people that own Champs Restaurant and have similar sandwiches. The Phyrst's cheesesteaks are awesome!!!
Go here Walk through the big wooden doors and head down the steps. This bar has been a standard in State College for years. The whole atmosphere just drips of college energy. The bands are always good. The drinks are reasonably priced. And the Phyrst Family plays every Saturday night....Must See!! No matter how old you are, you feel like you are 21 all over again after a night here.
Great Irish Bar The Phyrst is a great irish bar in downtown State College, PA. On Saturdays nights the entertainment called the Phyrst Family is excellent. This is the night that you must go to this bar. This is also the best place to be on Saint Patrick's Day because they have green beer although the lines can be long even at 9 o'clock in the morning.
