Unsure of the nurses name (male, Indian/middle eastern, mid-30s, wears glasses, scruffy beard) was our initial encounter once being called back to take my 1 year old sons’ vitals. As a first time mom, all first time injuries emergent or not terrify me because it’s a scary feeling. My son crying, fighting to not let me go because of the unfamiliar setting with pain in his entire right arm without movement. Front desk ladies were extremely rude. Came in with my adult daughter and son and i was told they needed to leave “NOW” while i was checking in my other daughter in the ER when the waiting area was empty, physician and other nurses were nice. The front desk needs to be sent back to training because clearly they have no customer service skills.
So the staff were very nice and we were seen quickly but they switched up our discharge paperwork with another child. Our daughter was diagnosed with the cold but our discharge paperwork was for a UTI, which was never tested for or treated. Makes me worry for the other child that actually had a UTI but got discharge paperwork telling them how to care for the cold.
I would like to start by saying that the PA and the physician assistant were both very kind, attentive, and caring during our visit. This is why I gave 2 stars. Unfortunately, our experience with the nursing staff was the complete opposite. From the triage nurse to the discharge nurse, the nurses made us feel as though we were an inconvenience.
