Today was my first time going and boy I DON'T regret it. I was greeted by a nice young gentleman who said to pick wherever to sit. He asked if I was ready to order or if I needed a few more minutes. I needed a sec to see what they had, and ordered the chicken pho. He asked if I wanted beef, vegetable, or chicken broth. I opted for chicken through and through. Service good! Pho was also good and flavorful, but their banh mis are more on the sweeter side. It’s alright for the most part!
I had a pretty good experience at Pho J in Auburn. The food was enjoyable overall, and the Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang was one of the highlights—the noodles were really good and flavorful. There were a few things that kept me from giving five stars. I tried to order Bún Bò Huế, but they didn’t have it and offered something else instead. I ordered lemongrass chicken and received a fried dish that wasn’t it. First pic is from the website and the other is what was delivered.
I ordered the speciality dish V6 combination chicken rice noodles. There’s no flavor to the dish and it’s not even a combination dish. The noodle was dried, all stuck together as one big lump. Just chicken, noodles, bean sprouts, and celeries. When a dish states “combination” you’re expecting combination of other vegetables too plus one protein.
