Dr. Heyse was a very hands-on doctor. He was at the hospital early the next day to make sure things were good and explained everything to my husband and I. My follow-up visit was a positive experience as well. I would trust him again with my care. The only negative was the hospital stay at MVHS was not a great experience compared to other hospitals in the area. I would choose MVH downtown Dayton or Soin over MVHS for any future surgeries.
Father went in for an appendectomy and he performed the surgery. Ignored his complaints for 10 days of pain, no appetite, bowel issues, swelling, exhaustion, little mobility, amongst many other complaints after surgery. We asked for blood tests, said no, and sent him home, came back with complaints and sent him home. Finally went to regular doctor and he ordered blood test and ct scan. Now hospitalized again for abscesses due to surgery 2 weeks ago. Cannot recommend this negligent doctor.
Dr. Heyse is a beast! He had to perform an emergency open cholecystectomy on me one late Friday night/early Saturday morning. I could tell he was tired, but he handled a complex procedure flawlessly with limited assistance! He also was good about letting me manage my own care during recovery, as I have an extensive amount of medical experience. Good guy! Great scar! Thanks, Dr. Heyse!
