I've heard of this guy all over the news. Supposedly his businesses overcharge people by the thousands.
Dr Phillip C Phan owns a business called Sunset Labs that then in connection with pain clinics that he also owns (US Pain & Spine formerly Houston Pain Centers) to divert urine samples to that lab owned by Dr Phan. For a simple routine urine drug test which was never supposed to go to this lab, they billed more than $16,000 (total bill $33k, two urine drug sample cups) each time and they then waited more than a year and now claim that I owe them. Dr. Phan is the best pain doctor that I have known. I have pelvic pain from interstitial cystitis, and only he knew how to completely treat my pain with a different treatments-- nerve blocks, exercises, therapy, and pain medications. He is not actively practicing now, but I wish he would consider going back to practicing. I have seen several other pain doctors here in Houston, and they do not know much about IC pain. We have a large group of IC pain patients here in Houston who would love for him to go back seeing patients. ... read more
