Dr. Alter is a knowledgable, caring professional, and he has the gift of not beating around the bush when it comes to the realities of pet health. We always feel our pets, over 20 years, have been very well cared for and that we have been treated honestly and directly. He always spends more time explaining the situation than youll find with any other vet. His staff is great -- we would never take our dogs or cats anywhere else.

Dont leave your dog over night at this establishment. There is no staff to tend to your sick animal while he or she is being kept there. They call themselves a hospital when in fact they are not. A real vet hospital has round the clock staff to care for your sick animal. My dog was left over night for observation and died in his care. I have been going to Pets Friend for over 15 years with my "crew" of dogs and cats. They are the best. The staff is the most friendly even when its extremely busy and Dr Alter shows that he loves what he does. I never feel "fleeced" there as I have at other animal hospitals. I have lived all over the country and used many vets in the past. They are definitely the most compassionate. He also explains what is going on medically and asks if I understand! Concerned,Caring and Capable...The Entire staff is Great. Weve been "patients" for 20 years and all of our furry family members have been treated extremely well.
I wanted to take the time to write my own review, at a current clients standpoint!I am and have been so happy with the care that Dr. Alter has given to my pets. I couldnt ask for a better, more caring, and understanding veterinarian! He really is one in a million and I wouldnt think of taking my fur-bearing babies anywhere else!I read the other post, and couldnt believe my eyes! This person who gave their description, in the first review, couldnt be more off base!
