Well this is a sad day. New owners took over and none of the locals work here anymore. The service at the deli was terrible. Super rude and the sandwich’s have gone downhill. The prices have gone way up and it didnt seem as they have been thought proper food handling skills. This was a staple on my road trips but I’ll be waiting till Greenwood and getting my food and coffee there.. sigh.
Got here at 5pm and the bathroom was closed for cleaning which is alright. My wife just gave birth 2 days ago and we are on home, so we did some breast feeding and diaper change in the car while waiting for the bathroom to open. 40 minutes later it’s still locked and closed for cleaning. I go inside and ask when it will be open as I have been here for 40 minutes and the response I get is a I don’t know, and then when I tell I’ve been waiting for 40 minutes he basically says I’m lying. Used to a great place get really good sandwich, not anymore. It's really gone downhill. If you're headed east the deli in Midway at McMynn's will exceed your expectations.
I bought firewood here. When I asked, before purchasing, the lady at the counter stated, definitively, that there were 7-9 pieces per bundle, at $12.50/bundle. When I got back to camp, I discovered that there were only 4 pieces, on average, per bundle. $3 per piece of wood????? Absolute tip off!!!!
New ownership has ruined this place, Disgusting food prep conditions, Flys all over the deli meats. They shouldn't have a license to sell or handle food for dogs let alone human consumption.
