We have been here a number of times . The food is top notch although they dont have only Mediterranean food. The choices are good with amazing pricing. The atmosphere is cozy the music is louder than standard conversation. We had to talk at a higher volume to be able to hear each other. The service needs more work. The server never checked on us. I ran out of water many times from 2 glasses (mine and my wifes) my wife had tea. We got the appetizer 5 minutes before the main course came out. Did not check on us during the meal... read more

Petra Restaurant is a Mediterranean gem! Authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and beautifully prepared dishes that transport you with every bite. The hummus, kabobs, and falafel are outstanding. Staff are warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. A true Monterey treasure.

We had a meal here two years ago that we remember fondly. It was so outstanding that we are sending this review two years later. We expect to be in Monterey this year during car week and look forward to another wonderful meal. Our server, Tony, was outstanding & we left a large tip for our appreciation. The lamb & combination platter were cooked to perfection. It was one of the most enjoyable meals we have ever had outside of our home. Thank you staff at Petra's.
