The hotel is super old and rundown. It really smells old and dirty. Beyond dirty filthy is more accurate. The entire building only has one elevator. Which is broken today so walk four flights of stairs. Do yourself a favor - Don’t stay at this rundown place. I have a preference for new and modern - this place is like an antique haunted house that smells. The photos on the website are super old and edited… beware.
The pool and top deck are exceptional and the heart of this hotel. The staff in this area of the hotel are attentive and friendly. The check in staff are not of the same caliber, having traveled for 24 hours they insisted that not one room was available until exactly 4pm. Clearly they prioritized others, on any other occasion this wouldn’t matter. So don’t bother to turn up early you won’t be an exception despite everything.
After traveling over 20 hours from Buenos Aires, we arrived at the hotel at 1:15 p.m.—exhausted, hopeful, and ready for even a small dose of wonderfully bohemian hospitality. It was not our first stay, and our previous experience had been very pleasant. Hostess working the pool rooftop was very rude to me and my partner upon arrival. Continued to be a terrible experience in crossing her path while at the pool. Wait staff an everyone else at the pool was much nicer and were great to interact with. Weird thing is - the waitress charged my card at 2:20 pm on 10/18. Then the tall pale blonde hostess Elyse who hated me for no reason was the one who brought my check back out to the table after - with no credit card in it.
